Really? Valentine's Day?

lets get realistic for a minute here, something i'm not accustomed to doing on this blog. but is valentines day really a holiday? i mean, shouldnt it be called something like "men coddle over their girlfriend/wife" day? or "spend all this money on flowers and chocolate when all they really want is to hang out with you and have you tell them you love them (something you should be doing everyday anyways)" day? or better yet, "make single guys feel like crap" day?

this might sound a little harsh, and reasonable so b/c its a worthless holiday in my opinion. the things guys do on v-day to make their special lady feel important are things they should be doing anyways all throughout the year.

"here, let me spend $35 on some roses that will die in 2 days." or "here are some chocolates that i know you secretly want but will get mad at me for tempting you with them when i know your on a diet" kinda thing. i mean really, do we need a special day to do stuff like this for our womenfolk? i submit that v-day is more or less a wasted holiday. do the guys get a special day for the girls to spoil us? i think not.

but alas, you heard it first here: i've spent my last v-day alone! this time next year i'll be praising the wonders of valentines and the opportunity i have to spoil her. (whoever "her" is)

*in case you couldnt tell, i did nothing on saturday night besides watch the all-star activities
