i've been doing a bit of reading the past couple months and these are some i've finished along the way:
A Thousand Splendid Suns - it was an interesting read but i wasnt terribly impressed with it. it talked a lot about the supression of women in the middle east and was more depressing than anything i'd say. altho i'm sure its a somewhat accurate portrayal of life for women over there, i dont think i want to read a fictional version of stuff like that. i prefer the real thing when it comes to history. but like i said, it was informative and interesting, but it took a long time to get going and tie everything together
The Great Apostacy - i enjoyed this book a lot, even tho its written by talmage who can be very hard to understand. its written in a much simpler manner and the format makes it easy to read. it goes thru all the stuff that led up to and incorporated the apostacy, mostly from a worldly perspective, which was interesting. he includes a lot of details most members of the church wouldnt otherwise know unless they studied it in-depth on their own. very informative and i would recommend it to any student of the gospel
