so there i am again, enjoying a peaceful lunch on campus. simply minding my own business, eating my taco bell bowreatoe. and what would you know? two older ladies come up and ask me if i wouldnt mind sharing a few thoughts on modesty for their young women. and if that wasnt enough, they had a camcorder to record it! sheesh, they're not messin around. so i oblige, again, and indulge them in their efforts to teach their jr. high and high school-aged young ladies the benefits of being modest, coming from a "cute byu guy," to put it in their own words. it went something like this:
"do you think girls should dress modestly?"
"absolutely. but only if they're ugly."
"what does it mean to you when a girl dresses inappropriately?"
"it means i need to get their number."
"how would you describe it when your date dresses immodestly?"
"i describe it as a good way to make other dudes jealous of my girls smokin hot bod!"
okay, so thats not what i said at all. actually, it was rather similar to a general conference talk. all i was missing was the pulpit and the floral decorations off to the side. after i was done all they could do was stand there with mouths gaping. i'm pretty sure it will appear on byutv and in the next issue of the ensign and new era. then it will be made into a pamphlet and distributed worldwide as the new "strength of youth."
anyways, all joking aside, it was kinda weird. i dont know what to say in front of a camera being put on the spot. to me its a simple matter of obedience. either girls choose to follow the counsel of our prophets or they dont. its attractive to me when a girl doesnt try to fudge the lines between whats appropriate and what isnt. yes i like a girl with a nice body, but i think its too bad when they think they have to use that in order to draw attention to themselves. that just tells me they dont have much else to offer, or they're not confident enough in themselves to use their personality to attract guys. with that being said, i need to quit eating at the wilk center so i dont have to keep doing these weird things!
