Tales of Sitting

so this past weekend, while erin and rob were out for their aniversary, i stayed at home and watched the little ones. what an event. i thought i was pretty well prepared to become a parent myself farely shortly - due to the extended amount of child activity i've had with kids in my life. haha, a newfound respect for full-time parents is now had by me. and definitely a profound admiration for those that go it alone. i felt like a single dad. at church everyone was asking: "so is your wife out of town, or did she pass away?" none of it people, i'm an uncle! (upon hearing this they offered me money and gifts but i accepted nothing).
what a change of lifestyle i tell ya. no more sleepin in till 12 pm, going to the gym whenever i want, or even alone time. i have responsibilities people! mouths need to feed, clothes to change, toys to pick up, dinner to prepare, kids to entertain, and diapers to hide in the parents bedroom. sheesh, who knew such was parenting?! but alas, this was only temporary, and the owners of the little ones came home. welcome back!
so at the beginning, upon hearing they would be watched by their uncle for the weekend, the kids' reaction went from this:

to them thinking of me like this - SuperUncle! oh yes, not only did my physical stature change and adapt to endure the responsibilities of extended babysitting (known as parenting to others), but my mental, emotional, and pyschological capabilities expanded as well! i tell ya what, if this was the change for only taking care of 2 kids, i cant wait to see what i look like with 5 kids of my own!
